New Membership Form 2020-2021

The Austin Healey Club of WA (Inc) was first incorporated as an Association under the provisions of the Associations Incorporation Act 1895 on 9 September 1976. As part of this incorporation the club had in place a Constitution that complied with the requirements of this Act.

However a new Associations Incorporation Act 2015 commenced 1 July 2016. The Act provides a framework of regulation for not-for-profit organisations such as sport and recreation clubs, societies and community groups in Western Australia leaving the internal management of associations largely to the members. Associations are still able to incorporate as a separate legal body and thereby limit the liability of its members for lawful activities. The new Act required a number of compulsory matters to be included in an association’s rules (also known as the constitution).

The Committee of the Austin Healey Club of WA reviewed the existing Constitution and the new requirements. A new Constitution that complied with the new Act was drafted and presented to the membership which needed to be ratified by a Special Resolution at a “Special Meeting” of members.

A “Special Meeting” was held on 26 June 2017 at which a vote was held to pass these changes. This was carried unanimously by the members present and the new constitution came into force from that moment.

This new Constitution which came into force on 26 June 2017 is available in PDF format from the below link:
